I am currently in the early stages of organizing Felon's United, Inc. and still seeking the right type of Team Members to further the Organizations mission. At the moment, all organizational efforts are being done by the Founder & Incorporator Douglas T. Johnson and his 2 4-Legged Kids, Sammy Jo & Shaitan. For over 30 years, I have been an advocate for changes in our healthcare, housing and justice system policies. During this time I was also politically active and worked as a paralegal for some of Michigan's best attorney's. And as nefariously reported by Fox 2 News during my efforts to recall the former Mayor of Detroit, am a felon. However, I prefer to identify as a Psychotic Nonconformist who hosts a weekly Podcast discussing current events and other issues that are important to you. For any questions or concerns I can easily be reached via phone, email. or the other listed methods on the Contact page.
Having grown up in Detroit, Michigan, in an area that traditionally struggled with various housing issues, I know first hand the realities of what these types of struggles do to a community. Lack of affordable housing is the main reason why so many of our neighbors struggle to maintain employment or seek higher education, receive meaningful healthcare, and in many cases, are even forced to turn to crime to mitigate whatever challenge they may be facing. Our leaderships failed efforts have been going on too long, are no longer acceptable, and need to be drastically reformed.
After watching one government program after another fail it became clear that a new approach needs to be taken to address this problem. Warming Centers, Shelters, Transitional Housing, or Jails & Prisons are not the solution. All Americans, no matter what their background may be, where they come from, or what language they speak, deserve affordable housing which became the underlying reason for forming Felon's United, Inc. Our Mission is very simple, to eradicate homelessness while at the same time, develop housing communities that are affordable and more environmentally friendly.
